LICENSED THERAPIST IN TEXAS & COLORADO
SPECIALIZING IN THERAPY FOR ADULTS & TEENS
Meet Reagan Hylton, MA, LCDC, LPC
I became a therapist because I believe healing happens in safe relationships, and you deserve a space to feel seen, understood, and supported.I work from a person-centered approach and integrate evidence-based interventions from Internal Family Systems (IFS), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).
Why I Do This Work
Like a lot of other therapists, I found my way to this career through personal experience. I was lucky to begin my therapy journey at a young age, but felt like something was still missing despite learning all the CBT tips and tricks and reading practically every self-help book ever written. It wasn’t until I found a therapist who helped me really dig into the deeper stuff that I found the change I had been looking for.
Therapy helped me understand my patterns, like why I showed up the way I did in relationships, why certain things felt so hard, and why I kept ending up in the same place no matter how hard I tried to do things differently.
What made the difference in my own therapy was the relationship I formed with my therapist. They heard my story without flinching, helped me look at my younger self with compassion instead of criticism, and encouraged me to build self-trust. I learned to set boundaries, stick up for what I needed, and believe that my own experience was worth taking seriously.
That's what I want to give the people I work with. Not just a framework for understanding yourself, but a healing relationship where you feel safe enough to be fully honest, maybe for the first time.
Our deepest healing often happens within relationships that make us feel safe, seen, and normal.

What Working Together Actually Looks Like
Finding the right therapist matters more than most people realize. Research consistently shows that the relationship between therapist and client is one of the strongest predictors of whether therapy actually helps.
That's why I prioritize the relationship I build with each client above all else.
I show up to every session with genuine curiosity about you. Not just your symptoms or your history, but the full picture of who you are and what your experience is like. I'm not going to rush you or assign you homework you didn't ask for. We go at your pace and nothing is off-limits. I want to hear about it all.
My approach draws on IFS, EMDR, ACT, and CBT, but I don’t use these as rigid protocols. I view them as flexible tools to supplement our work together based on what fits you best. Some sessions are going to feel heavy, and some will be surprisingly light, but most will involve figuring something out together that you couldn't quite get to on your own.

Outside The Therapy Room
As a recovering workaholic, the first place you can probably find me is sitting on my laptop completing another training or curled up in bed reading about new therapy techniques.
When I step away from work, you can usually find me:
Deep in a murder mystery, memoir, or romance novel
Dreaming of hiking more trails in our national parks
Hunting for the best coffee shops in town
Working on a puzzle
Relaxing on the couch with my cats
Outside of being a therapist, I'm just a normal person trying to live a full, meaningful life, and I think those experiences make it easier for me to show up for you and help you do the same.
