Individual Counseling In Houston Heights and Virtually Throughout TX and CO
Therapy for adults and teens who are tired of just managing through their days and are ready to actually heal.
You've read the self-help books, know your patterns, and have maybe even tried therapy before. And still, something keeps pulling you back into the same patterns - the same arguments, the same shutting down, the same voice in your head that says you're too much, not enough, or somehow both at once.
You don't need another coping strategy. You need a space where the why finally makes sense, and where you can start to change it for real.
Therapy to help you break old patterns, build deeper connections, and heal from the inside out
What I Help With
To an outsider, you look like you’re holding it all together. You can show up for work, cross grocery shopping off your to-do list, and even smile through the occasional happy hour meetup. But inside, your emotions are running the show, and they’re screaming that you just need a break.
Maybe you:
Spiral into shame or self-criticism after small mistakes
Lash out or shut down in arguments, and can't figure out why
People-please until you're resentful, then feel guilty for having needs at all
Struggle to trust yourself or the people closest to you
Feel disconnected from yourself, like you’re just going through the motions
Know things "aren't that bad" but still can't shake the weight of it
Together, we can dive deep into understanding what is keeping you stuck, and help you finally heal the core wounds underneath.
My Approach
I'm not the therapist who hands you a list of coping skills and calls it a session. The work we will do together goes deeper than that.
My approach is warm, trauma-informed, and built around you - not a protocol. My first priority is building a relationship that makes you feel safe enough to be honest and dive into the hard stuff, because that relationship is where the real magic happens.
From there, we’ll use a mix of approaches depending on what fits you best. My favorites include IFS (Internal Family Systems), ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), CBT, and EMDR. I use these techniques to help us dive deep, understand your patterns at the root, and achieve lasting change.
Our sessions will feel collaborative. I'll bring curiosity and warmth; you bring whatever you've got that day. Nothing is off-limits here, and there is no set agenda or timeline. I believe with a little guidance, you have what it takes to heal and live the life you want.
What We Might Explore Together
Individual counseling is flexible by design. What brings someone in is often just the starting point, and what we uncover underneath is where the real work happens.
Common themes I help clients with include:
Anxiety and chronic overthinking — learning to quiet the mental noise and trust yourself again
Relationship patterns — understanding why you keep ending up in the same dynamics, and how to change them
People-pleasing and boundaries — finding your voice without the guilt hanging over you
Emotional regulation — getting more space between what you feel and what you do
Self-worth and identity — rebuilding a relationship with yourself that isn't based on productivity, approval, or performance
Life transitions — navigating change, grief, or major decisions with more clarity and less fear
You don't need to show up to session one with a neat list of goals. You can start by saying "I just know something needs to change," and we can figure it out from there together.
What Healing Can Look Like
Therapy can help you feel more grounded within yourself and more connected to what really matters to you. Just imagine - you’re sitting with yourself and you feel a sense of calm settling over you as you realize you’re finally able to show up as the person you want to be.
You may begin to notice:
They stop picking apart every interaction after it’s over
They can have hard conversations without completely shutting down or spiraling
They set a boundary and don't spend three days second-guessing it
They start to actually feel their emotions instead of managing them from a distance
They trust themselves and others more
My clients often say they have more confidence in themselves. They can regulate their emotions and show up even when it feels hard. And most importantly, they feel happier because they’re able to live the life they’ve been wanting.
FAQs

Absolutely. You don't need a diagnosis or a dramatic backstory to benefit from therapy. If something feels off in your relationships, your emotions, or your inner voice, that's enough of a reason. Most of the people I work with aren't in crisis, they just know that life could be better.

It depends on what you're working through and what you want to get out of it. Some clients come in for a focused period of a few months to work on something specific. Others stay longer because the work deepens over time and they want to keep going. We'll check in regularly on your goals and make sure the work still feels useful.

That happens more than you'd think, and it usually comes down to fit, approach, or timing. Not every therapist or method is right for every person. If you've had experiences that left you skeptical, I'd rather you tell me that upfront. We can talk about what did and didn't work and figure out whether what I offer might be different.

Yes. I work with teens and adults in individual counseling. Teen sessions have the same warm, non-judgmental approach. I meet adolescents where they are, not where adults think they should be.

For most clients, I recommend 50 minute sessions weekly or every other week. The cost for a 50 minute session is $150.
Some clients find they benefit from longer session times, and 90 minute sessions are available for $270.
At the start of treatment, I’ll discuss my recommendation for session frequency with you and we’ll create a plan together to help you achieve your goals.
